Editor's Comments: Women! From a former male chauvinist. Last June I was invite to attend the 10th Anniversary Dinner of the Long Island EWGA (Executive Women's Golf Association). Let me assure you I wasn't invited because of my Golf prowess. But I was there along with about 5 or 6 other guys and 400 women executives. My only comment is Guys watch out their going  to take over.

Our speaker this week Marianne O'Conner reminded me of that night. I also looked back when Rotary was all male and how women helped make Rotary what it is today. Our Women members every one of them very active in the club, Sue past president, RYLA and responsible for are tremendous membership growth, Kathy club Treasurer, driving force of our Spring Festival,  Chris club Secretary, pancake queen, Our Tomato Carol, Fruit sale Tomato sale, Public relations, Jessica runs the 5K race,  Betsy public relations, and of course Our ruler, club sports authority, Speaker chair Charlotte. Emily our new women member is ready to step up to the plate.

I've saved Carolyn Spring for last you all know Carolyn has been fighting Cancer she's been very positive active in the club and attending meetings  and a couple weeks ago she showed up with a beautiful head of her own hair. God did she look beautiful.

Flash From Pat Rourke

Bryan has not been well this week and after 4 days on antibiotics we went for a follow up with the doctor because he was still in severe pain. Three hours later he was having emergency surgery for what they thought was hernia but ended up to be a mystery cyst that was infected and they don’t know how it got there. He will be in Newton Wellesley Hospital for a few days until they can figure this out.
My cell phone number is
xxx  xxx xxxx if you need him. I’m not bringing in his phone as he is on big time drugs and not making a lot of sense right now.
Prayers are most welcome,
Pat Rourke

Our speaker Wednesday  March 22, 2010 was Marianne O’Connor— Marianne was introduced very eloquently by Gerry Gross. Marianne incoming Westborough School Superintendant  talked about her goals for the future and answered many questions about the Westborough school system. When she finished we all felt grateful  to have such a great team of educators in the Westborough school system. Marianne also promised to look into our unused athletic equipment.
